I have been pretty lazy lately and haven't updated this in a while. I have made a few bets here and there, but I really missed out on last weeks tennis matches. Sometimes I just don't feel like pulling the trigger on the lines. In hind sight the outcomes can always be wins or loses. I just feel like I missed out on a lot of money.

As for the matches that I have won.

I went with the spurs to beat the hornets in the series. I think it was $150 to win a $100, either way it was too good of a price to pass up.

I also bet on Man U to lift the cup (to beat Chealsea). It also came through but was a really emotional win for me and any other fans that were watching the game.

I have been busy with school and pretty much trying to relax for a bit. Need to enjoy my time off.

Overall I came home from Vegas a big loser. I went with a group of friends, and instead of playing poker I spent my time gambling at the tables. Dropped a little at the craps table, a little at the blackjack table, and a whole lot at the roulette wheel. I lost every big coin flip bet I put on this game, the wheel would hit 4 reds in a row I would throw down on it only for it to hit 0 (green), this happened to me twice! I did put in a short session of poker at T. Island, which has a small but nice poker room. I played a little 1-3 NL ($100 min/$500 max), where almost everyone bought in for the max. I played for about 30-40 min walked about $100 up, the play there was nothing special/impressive.
I had two big hands:

Guy opens for $15, another guy calls, I call with 99. Ace hit the flop, I shut down and there are checks around. Blank turn card, guy who raised bets $20..second guy calls..I fold.. Blank river card. Guy fires again and get his Ace paid off.

Guy raises to $15 w/ KQ off, second person calls, I call with 66. I flopped a set against this guys top pair, flop goes check check. I bet the turn..he calls... River pairs the board, giving me a boat..I value bet..and he pays me off with top pair.

As I said the plays were bad...

Highlights of the trip were: Eating at the China Grill, absolutely great food was about $70/person. Railing at the WSOP and seeing some of the pros. Seeing the game at Bobby's room.

I took the Red Sox over the Indians @ -195 with Josh Beckett pitching.

OUTCOME: Red Sox won 4:2

I also liked the Dodgers over the Nationals @ -195 with Brad Penny pitching.

OUTCOME: Dodgers won 10:0

Even with these money lines I love the 1:2 return, since the average during basketball season was 1:4 and 1:5. Overall, I am slowly building up some profit for this month. Even with the small $50 bets on baseball you can turn a couple hundred a week. Hopefully I can gain some momentum and increase my wagers, cause I find these stakes to be too minimal.

On a side note I am really looking forward to college football season. I find it to be the most thrilling sport season to bet on and watch.

Lost motivation...

I have seriously lost my motivation to gamble. I need to win a couple bets or have a good poker session to regain it. I guess I have been relaxing too much, playing low stake poker (though I love being able to play true poker at these levels and making plays on players, instead of tight poker at the higher stakes), and have become content with it.

Anyways, I almost took Andy Roddick the other night. He was playing an average player that had a horrible record for the year, the line was -320 which reflected that Roddick was favored heavily. The only aspect that worried me about this match up was that this tournament was being played on clay, which Roddick is somewhat just average on. So, after I debate for a long time about this line I just decided to stay away from it. Roddick ended up losing the match, which somewhat surprised me, but at least it did not cost me any money.

Today, I took the Red Sox over the Rangers @ -185 I just put out a small bet, based mostly on DiceK pitching and the Rangers generally suck., but you really never know with baseball.

OUTCOME: The Red Sox Won

I have been watching the $1/2 and $2/4 games on bodog, making player notes, judging the quality of plays, etc. I have to say that there is a lot of money that just gets dumped by horrible players making bad plays. They play a lot of hands that should not be played, and it causes them to get stacked cause they over play the hell out of top pair with weak kickers. My bankroll is too short to freely play in the $2/4 games, but I might need to sit in and just wait out for the nut hands just to make some quick cash.

Finally, my friends have gotten together and set up a date to go to Las Vegas. It will be at the beginning of July and should be a lot of fun to say the least. I guess here lies my motivation to start making money like I was during basketball season.

The spurs are favored by 4 tonight with a -165 moneyline. This seems too low to me. I have followed both teams throughout the entire season, and it just seems to uneven for the spurs to lose this game. I am about 85% sure the spurs come out on top tonight, though it could be by a point or 15 points, but I think they will win.

LINE SHIFT: shifted to -150..........sigh.........could have had a better return on my bet, given that the spurs win.

UPDATE: CHOKE FEST! SPURS DONKDOWN!

OUTCOME: VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the Braves over the Nationals on both Monday and Tuesday. They managed to lose Monday night due to a pure lack of offense and won tonight 6-2. I was pretty frustrated with the Monday loss because I had really kept track of which games I would have bet on and would have done well. Then I decide to start placing wagers and they just lose to the Nationals 2-1.

I haven't returned to gambling full time yet. I am taking a couple days to hang out with some friends and relax. I should return home later this week ,and I plan to play poker and analyze games on a daily bases. As of now I am limiting my bets to $50 and $100 on baseball games that I think will come through. Since the lines are pretty even the return is always 50% or greater.

I should be studying instead of gambling, but whatever. Last night I noticed a really bad line that was posted, it was Andy Roddick vs. who ever at -175. So, I did my research and couldn't tell why it was set so low. I put money on it and about an hour later the line had shifted to -245. Andy won and for once I got my money in at a cheap price.

Well, here is the line for tonight. Roddick @ -145 Here is the research on it: Andy is 6-1 against this guy, the single loss was 3 years ago. They both haven't lost many matches this year, so it should not be a landslide, but I can't resist a cheap line that is still relatively even money for such low risk.

Back to studying.....
